A New Beginning

Well it's 2024.  I have a doggo curled up next to me as the wind blows outside.  I'm drinking my water and thinking about setting goals and making plans.

As 2023 wrapped up I realized that I'm struggling a bit with setting goals, and consequently reaching those goals.  Be it due to my lack of....lack of focus mainly, or time, or generally getting distracted.  A lot of my focus was lost last spring when Henson got sick and I had to say goodbye to him.  But I know that I need to get my focus back.  I decided to create a bullet journal to help with daily and longer goals.  I have to set it up at this point, but now that the first semester is over, I have a bit of different time that I can work on this and other goals and plans.

I set a number of goals in 2023, I kept track of them via a google sheets, I called it 23 for 23 in 23 and it was a list of things to do 23 times during the year - it included simple things like watching movies and reading books and other things to make the world a better place.  I planned to complete 500 things for the year out of about 1000 and I managed well over the goal of 500.  I'm adding a few things and changing a few things for 2024 (I'm going to try to add that the the bullet journal!)

Some things I want to work on for 2024:

• Blog about my research and findings of art things - I research a lot, but I really don't like posting about what I find because my research is for expanding my knowledge of my art and craft.  I feel like it is kind of silly to post about it, but there are some interesting things I've found and learned about.

• Blog about my own artwork - I make a fair amount of art.  I admit to going in fits and starts depending on life, which is ok.  I just don't post because I feel like it's a combination of bragging, and who really wants to see that.  I care about my own art making but others?

• Blog about where I am with things and life?

• Work on instructional videos - starting with basic things, introductory things, content learnings, and how-to videos as well.

• Of course there are some other personal things that I need to really work on as well! :-)

So this is a start towards a new and better me in 2024!
